ADVISORY BOARD

The Advisory Board is our most senior and influential member forum. Chaired by Sir Roger Carr, the Advisory Board brings together senior business leaders, ambassadors, academic experts and policymakers. Its main role is to advise and support the Executive and the Board of Directors in its policies, strategies and activities, ensuring that we achieve our mission and objectives. In addition, the Board reviews, discusses, offers insights into and approves, priority themes for the IBDE working programme. The Advisory Board works closely with the Executive and its members often host, chair and speak at our events.

How to get involved

We work closely with our members, building on our established relationships with our corporate partners, diplomatic community and government senior officials, we help inform international trade and investment policy and decision-making.

IBDE is often seen by senior diplomats and business executives as the only organisation providing a 'safe space' to engage in a multilateral discussion both via networking and through various discussions under the Chatham House rule.

With business leaders and diplomats steering our agenda through our advisory boards, and with a diverse input from our members our activities provide a unique environment to discuss policy issues relevant to international trade and investment.

Through a wide range of programmes, including chairman's business briefings, CEO briefings and policymaker roundtables our members play an active role in informing and shaping the IBDE's agenda.
